K-Kids Week: Inspiring the Next Generation of Leaders in Coppell

February 9โ€“13, 2026 marks K-Kids Week, a special time across the Kiwanis family to celebrate elementary students who are learning leadership, service, and kindness through K-Kids, one of Kiwanis Internationalโ€™s youth programs.

While Coppell does not currently have a K-Kids club, the Kiwanis Club of Coppell is excited to raise awareness about this impactful program and begin conversations about what it could look like to bring K-Kids to our local elementary schools in the future.

What is K-Kids?

K-Kids is a Kiwanis-sponsored program for elementary school students, designed to help children:

  • Develop leadership and teamwork skills
  • Build confidence and responsibility
  • Learn the value of helping others
  • Make a positive difference in their school and community

Through age-appropriate service projects and activities, K-Kids empowers children to lead by example and discover that even small acts of kindness can have a big impact.

Why K-Kids Matters

Kiwanis believes that leadership development starts early. Programs like K-Kids introduce children to service at a young age, helping them grow into caring, engaged community members.

K-Kids is also part of the larger Kiwanis family of service leadership programs, which supports youth at every stage:

  • K-Kids (elementary school)
  • Builders Club (middle school)
  • Key Club (high school)
  • Circle K International (college)
  • Aktion Club (adults 18+ with disabilities)
  • Kiwanis (adult service)

Together, these programs create a powerful pipeline of leadership and service that benefits communities around the world.

Celebrating K-Kids Week (Feb 9โ€“13)

Each day of K-Kids Week highlights a different theme:

  • Monday: Show your K-Kids pride
  • Tuesday: Kudos to the helpers
  • Wednesday: Share with parents and families
  • Thursday: Random acts of kindness
  • Friday: Connect the Kiwanis family

Throughout the week, Kiwanis clubs, schools, and communities celebrate kindness in action and recognize the adults and families who support young leaders.
