February 9โ13, 2026 marks K-Kids Week, a special time across the Kiwanis family to celebrate elementary students who are learning leadership, service, and kindness through K-Kids, one of Kiwanis Internationalโs youth programs.
While Coppell does not currently have a K-Kids club, the Kiwanis Club of Coppell is excited to raise awareness about this impactful program and begin conversations about what it could look like to bring K-Kids to our local elementary schools in the future.
What is K-Kids?
K-Kids is a Kiwanis-sponsored program for elementary school students, designed to help children:
Develop leadership and teamwork skills
Build confidence and responsibility
Learn the value of helping others
Make a positive difference in their school and community
Through age-appropriate service projects and activities, K-Kids empowers children to lead by example and discover that even small acts of kindness can have a big impact.
Why K-Kids Matters
Kiwanis believes that leadership development starts early. Programs like K-Kids introduce children to service at a young age, helping them grow into caring, engaged community members.
K-Kids is also part of the larger Kiwanis family of service leadership programs, which supports youth at every stage:
K-Kids (elementary school)
Builders Club (middle school)
Key Club (high school)
Circle K International (college)
Aktion Club (adults 18+ with disabilities)
Kiwanis (adult service)
Together, these programs create a powerful pipeline of leadership and service that benefits communities around the world.
Celebrating K-Kids Week (Feb 9โ13)
Each day of K-Kids Week highlights a different theme:
Monday: Show your K-Kids pride
Tuesday: Kudos to the helpers
Wednesday: Share with parents and families
Thursday: Random acts of kindness
Friday: Connect the Kiwanis family
Throughout the week, Kiwanis clubs, schools, and communities celebrate kindness in action and recognize the adults and families who support young leaders.
Exploring K-Kids in Coppell
The Kiwanis Club of Coppell is proud to support youth leadership locally โ including recently chartering the Key Club of Coppell High School โ and weโre excited to explore how K-Kids could one day support elementary students in our community as well.
Bringing a K-Kids club to a school starts with interest and partnership. We welcome conversations with:
Elementary school administrators and educators
Parents interested in leadership opportunities for their children
Community members who value youth service and development
Letโs Start the Conversation
If youโre interested in learning more about K-Kids or exploring the possibility of starting a K-Kids club in Coppell, weโd love to hear from you.
(Note: Event rescheduled from 1/27 to 2/24/26, due to ice storm)
We are looking forward to you joining us as we celebrate the official charter of Key Club of Coppell High School and install the 2025-2026 student officers.
Something remarkable is happening in Coppell, and you’re invited!
On November 19, 2025, Coppell High School welcomed a new organization that’s about to change everything: the Key Club of Coppell High School.
And on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 4:30-5:30 PM CST, we’re inviting our entire community to celebrate these student leaders at the Key Club Charter Celebration & Installation Ceremony in the Coppell High School Library.
Key Club International is the world’s largest high school service organization, with more than 260,000 members across 30 countries. It’s not just another club… it’s a global movement of students committed to service, leadership, and community impact.
Now Coppell has its own club. And these students aren’t waiting for someday to make a difference.
They’re Already Making Their Mark
Since officially chartering in November, the Key Club of Coppell High School has jumped right in:
Coppell Flick or Treat โ Helping families celebrate Halloween safely
Coppell Holiday Parade โ Spreading joy throughout our community
Coppell Farmers Market โ Sharing about Kiwanis and Key Club, and raising money for projects
Village Collective Partnership โ Collaborating to meet real community needs
Heritage Night โ Planning a spring 2026 celebration of culture and diversity at CHS
These aren’t just checkboxes on a college application. They’re students choosing to serve. Choosing to lead. Choosing to make Coppell better.
Why We’re Celebrating
The ceremony will officially induct charter members and install the 2025-2026 Key Club officers who will guide this organization forward. It’s a chance to:
โจ Honor student leadership โ These students deserve recognition for their commitment to service
โจ Inspire others โ Students considering joining Key Club can see what it’s all about
โจ Build community โ When we show up for our young people, we strengthen Coppell
โจ Pass the torch โ Celebrating 111 years of Kiwanis serving children globally
Orignially, a Perfect Timing: World Kiwanis Week
The celebration originally scheduled 1/27 ice (but rescheduled due to ice storm) concludes World Kiwanis Week (January 21-26, 2026), commemorating the 111th anniversary of Kiwanis International.
For more than a century, Kiwanis has connected communities worldwide with opportunities to serve children. From fighting iodine deficiency to supporting maternal and newborn health, Kiwanis has made measurable, lasting impact in the lives of millions of children.
And here in Coppell, we’re living that legacy by empowering students through Key Club.
The Kiwanis Club of Coppell proudly sponsors the Key Club of Coppell High School, providing mentorship, support, and resources so these student leaders can thrive.
Who Should Attend?
Everyone.
Seriously.
โ Parents who want to celebrate their students’ commitment to service
โ Students interested in learning about Key Club and how to join
โ Educators supporting youth leadership development
โ Community members who believe in the power of young people
โ Local leaders who want to see Coppell’s future in action
